Mechanical Research & Design, Inc. provides Modular Pressure and Leak Test systems for manufactured pipes, fittings, valves and other component assemblies. Our typical clients include direct piping and fitting manufacturers; mechanical contractors and piping system weld shops; construction site piping assembly and installations; industrial fabrication plants; energy production plants; and many more locations around the world. We have standard and highly customized, application-specific Modular Test Solutions, where the goal is often to provide as much flexibility for size range, length, and pressure into a single base test module package with economical, simple add-ons to cover more range. Ultimately, our customers save money over the life of their product validation activities as we make it easier to expand testing to new sizes without investing in additional test equipment.   Our modular test systems take less time to re-tool for changes due to variability in manufacturing, while also providing a single test core that is inherently safe for deployment in many configurations.

We specialize in providing discrete product solutions for many types of isolation and testing activities in industries including: Up and Downstream Oil & Gas, Nuclear Power and Processing, Defense, and Underwater Construction, where reliability, extended life, and consistency are required. Our Modular Test Systems integrate these same tools and MRD commitments into turnkey solutions used on a much broader scale. Mechanical Research & Design, Inc. engineers are trained in electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic control systems as well as human factors engineering to provide the functional, safe validation tools your shop or project needs.

As with our other projects, size, pressure, shape, materials of construction, and scope are practically unlimited. At Mechanical Research & Design, we design and fabricate most, if not all of the components we use on every job, and where procurement is required, our vendors must also meet our strict quality standards. Our advantage is that we can vulcanize and manufacture our SEALFAST® Elastomers (Inflatable and Mechanical Seals) in-house, and have been doing so for decades. We learn what our products can do before they end up on your products. Another added benefit is turn-around — we can construct seals to nearly any shape or size in rapid timeframes, allowing us to provide you solutions that we know will work.
